It's difficult to get out thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that doesn't mean you can't rip up some foliage from the comfort of your own home. A demo of Pikmin 3 Deluxe for the Switch will be available starting today, and it should whet your appetite for the destruction of nature.
"A demo for #Pikmin 3 Deluxe will be available this evening on Nintendo #eShop! The demo version features save-data transfer with the full game," Nintendo tweeted on its official Twitter account. "Completing it also gives immediate access to the Ultra-Spicy difficulty mode in the full game, and other perks!"
Nintendo revealed the demo earlier today during its Treehouse: Live stream, wherein we watched Pikmin frolic, fight, and die for about 40 minutes. Pikmin 3 Deluxe is largely the same game that came to the Wii U in 2013, but there are still some notable additions to the Switch version. You can look forward to a hint system, co-op gameplay, and extra story chapters that follow Captain Olimar and his sidekick, Louie.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe comes to the Switch on Oct. 30, so you can get into a SpoOOoOOky Halloween mood by flinging plant-people at trash and ordering them to pick it up. Pikmin 3 Deluxe joins a beefy line of "Deluxe" Switch games; ported and upgraded games that were overlooked on the failed Wii U. Other Deluxe Wii U-to-Switch titles include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, and the weird but wonderful Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE: Encore.
