Play as the God of War on PC and Xbox One Thanks to These GTA 5 and Skyrim Mods
Kratos in Los Santos
The new God of War is out week, but if you find that you can't wait until April 20 to unleash godlike fury across Nordic lands then lucky for you there are some cool alternatives. I'm talking about mods that deliver Kratos to games like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Skyrim.
If the really good God of War reviews got your appetite for destruction worked up, well unfortunately it's still another week until the public can get their hands on the new God of War. Luckily there are mods like the ones for Rockstar's GTA 5 and Bethesda's Skyrim which deliver the Kratos experience to new and exciting locales. Just like the new God of War really.
First up is Lê Tu?n Kh?i's God of War 3 mod for GTA 5 which lets players play as Kratos himself across Los Santos. Even Kratos' Blades of Chaos are included in the mod so you can get add some hack-and-slash to your daily Los Santos commute. You can find instructions on how to install the mod at the official mod page. The modder recommends also installing Meth0d's AddonPeds.
There's also the God of War mod for Skyrim which is also available on the Xbox One. The mod is kind of like the new God of War game in that Kratos finds himself in a new cold and snowy setting. Though obviously without his grizzled redesign or his new son that he found in Norway or wherever.
God of War is a reboot of the classic hack-and-slash franchise from Sony. Our God of War review awarded the game a perfect score, praising the way Santa Monica studio was able to reimagine Kratos while at the same time elevating him as a character. This is a sentiment that's shared among most critics who reviewed the game, and puts the new God of War seemingly in game of the year contention.
