Players Are Beating Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Scorpion Boss in Three Minutes

There are even no damage runs, too.

The demo for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake ends with a climactic boss fight against the Scorpion Sentinel, a machine that guards the Mako Reactor from Cloud, Barret, and the other Avalanche fighters. It's a pretty tough fight for just Cloud and Barret to take on, but some players are beating the boss in three minutes flat.

Take the video below, for example. This player effortlessly uses Cloud and Barret's unique combat abilities to their advantage to turn the tide of battle against the Scorpion Sentinel, beating it in a total time of three minutes and one second. That sub-three minute run is getting so close.

Then there's the video below. Some players are going for pure speed and brute strength when taking out the Scorpion Sentinel as quickly as possible, but the player below beats the entire fight without either Cloud or Barret taking a single hit. That's on top of avoiding using abilities or items throughout the entire fight as well.

Well, that sure does make me feel pretty inferior. The Scorpion Sentinel is no pushover by any means, and even if you're using Barret's thunder ability to deal some heavy damage to the Scorpion like you're meant to, it's still a tough fight.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake releases in little over a month, on April 10, 2020. Co-director Tetsuya Nomura recently revealed there'll be new story beats in the remake, such as visiting Jessie's parents, and you'll even be able to get around the huge city of Midgar using vehicles.
