Players Plunder Booty in the Extended Demo for Rare's Sea of Thieves on Xbox One X

Yargh me mateys.

One of Rare's most ambitious new projects, Sea of Thieves, got an extended demo today at Microsoft's E3 presentation. Coming out for the Xbox One and Xbox One X, Sea of Thieves is a shared-world pirate game that aims to bring the adventure of high-seas piracy to gamers.

Today's Sea of Thieves demo shows just how extensive Rare's new project is. From swimming into the ocean to loot sunken ships, or shooting pistols on treasure islands, the Sea of Thieves demo actually makes this share-world experience look like a truly classic pirate adventure.

One of the standout moments is when the demo guides players through a treasure hunt from deciphering clues on a treasure map, exploring caves, digging up the booty, and fighting off cursed skeletons that aren't too happy with you taking their treasure.
