Pokemon Go Gets Its First Gen 5 Pokemon Next Month
Here comes the Unova region.
Mobile Pokemon Trainers will finally get to pick up some new pals from the Unova region. Pokemon Go is releasing its first batch of fifth generation Pokemon into the wild starting September 16.
As part of the Ultra Bonus event rollout, three new Pokemon will arrive from Unova: Klink, Patrat, and Lillipup. All three will have Shiny variations as well.
Jirachi will also appear in-game via Special Research. If you complete the Pokemon Go Fest Special Research and catch a Wish Pokemon, you'll get new Special Research that will net you candy to power up Jirachi. A number of new raids, including one with Mewtwo, are also set to roll out in September.
Pokemon Go just recently hosted an event with Team Rocket, featuring a photobombing Giovanni and several evil trainers with corrupted Pokemon. Despite it feeling like years since the summer craze that swept up the world, Pokemon Go is still going strong. The mobile app recently clocked in its billionth download, and community days are still a regular occurence.
It's cool to see even more Pokemon join what has to be a massive Pokedex by this point, and ones from Unova to boot. Maybe it's time to reinstall and pick up a Lilllipup. If you're jumping back in this weekend, or maybe you're a seasoned Goer looking for some helpful tips, be sure to check out our guides section for Pokemon Go.
