Pokemon Go Getting Gen 4 Pokemon From Sinnoh Region "Soon," The Pokemon Company Confirms

Pokemon from Diamond and Pearl incoming.

The Sinnoh region Pokemon are coming to Pokemon Go as teased by a new Pokemon Go trailer today that gives players glimpses of the three Sinnoh starter Pokemon and the legendary Pokemon, Giratina.

In a blog post on the official Pokemon website, the Sinnoh region Pokemon are about to make an appearance in Niantic's massively popular AR Pokemon mobile game. The Sinnoh region is from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl and comprise the Gen IV Pokemon.

The Pokemon company also laid out tweaks and changes coming to Pokemon migration and behavior based on player feedback. The changes are meant to balance the game and improve the "overall experience" of Pokemon Go moving forward. These include:

  • Weather will have a reduced effect on the rate at which Pokemon appear.
  • As you explore a given area, greater variety of Pokemon species will appear over time and at different rates.
  • Areas like parks and nature reserves will not contain more varied Pokemon species.

Pokemon go is also getting some tuning to CP, HP, defense, and stamina values to help rebalance the game. No word on when the Sinnoh Pokemon or rebalanced stats will be implemented into the game, but judging by the language it could be very soon. Check out our Pokemon Go Gen 4 guide for more info.
