Pokemon Go Global Challenge Will Unlock Zapdos Day on July 21
The next part of the Pokemon Go Fest offers up the legendary lightning Pokemon.
This year, Pokemon Go Fest 2018 is returning to Chicago's Lincoln Park on July 14-15. Pokemon Go players will gather to play the game and complete challenges. If certain areas around the world reach their challenge requirements, it'll unlock bonuses. These bonuses will improve your ability to capture Pokemon, participate in Raid Battles, and even hatch eggs.
Are you ready for round two of Professor Willow’s Global Challenge? Starting July 14, each area of the world will have the chance to unlock game bonuses that take effect starting on July 16, with the chance to unlock Zapdos Day on July 21! Assuming all challenge goals are achieved, Zapdos Day will unlock on July 21. On that day, Zapdos will be available for Raid Battles for a three-hour window! Players worldwide will potentially receive up to five free Raid passes when they spin a Photo Disc at a Gym on Zapdos Day.
All Zapdos caught during this period will know the Fast Attack Thundershock and players may even encounter a Shiny Zapdos if they're lucky.
This is the second such event in Pokemon Go, with the previous one offering the ability to unlock and capture Articuno. One can assume that another event will take place allowing players to fight and pick up Moltres. If you want to know more about Pokemon Go Fest Global Challenge, you can check out our handy guide.
