Pokemon Go Releases Gorgeous, Nature Documentary-Style Trailer Narrated by Stephen Fry
It's like Blue Planet, but with Pokémon and Stephen Fry.
With Pokémon Go, Niantic attempted to bridge the world of Pokémon with our own. Now, to celebrate the latest batch of new Pokémon set out into the wild, the Pokémon Company has released a nature documentary-inspired short trailer narrated by Stephen Fry.
Basically, the short borrows a page from nature docs like The Blue Planet, with Fry takes over narration duties, delivering a soothing, David Attenborough-esque observation of the majestic world of Pokémon Go. The trailer imagines what Pokémon would look like living in their respective natural habitats in our world. You can check out the video below.
The video is meant to celebrate the release of Pokémon from the Ruby and Sapphire Hoenn region. Some of the new Pokémon coming out on Pokémon Go can be seen in this very trailer including: Plusle and Minun, Mawile, Masquerain, Wailord, and Luvdisc.
Frankly I kind of love everything about this trailer and I would mind if there was an entire, fictional Pokémon series set in this nature documentary style.
