Pokemon Go Will Have PvP Trainer Battles "Soon," Niantic Says

Get ready to battle.

Niantic announced that PvP trainer battles for Pokemon Go are coming soon. PvP is a feature long-requested by competitive trainers looking to test their skills in a little bloodsport.

In a tweet on the official Pokemon Go Twitter account, Niantic announced the incoming Trainer Battles and asked if trainers were ready. Along with trading, Pokemon trainer battles are a staple of the Pokemon series and a feature that's been requested since the launch of Pokemon Go.

The timing of the teaser couldn't have happened at a better time. Niantic's December Community Day event is scheduled for later today. Field Research assignments from previous months will be obtainable and six different Legendary Pokemon, Articuno, Moltres, Zapdo, Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, will be able to be encountered.

Check out our Pokemon Go guide for some tips to help you on Community Day. We'll also be keeping an eye out to see when Trainer Battles go live so keep checking back with us for more updates.
