Pokemon Go's Next Community Day is All About Mudkip

Word on the vine is that everybody likes Mudkips.

Niantic has revealed that July's Pokemon Go Community Day will have an abundance of Mudkip's as the featured Pokemon. The Community Day is scheduled for July 21 worldwide.

Community Days are sanctioned Pokemon Go events organized by a local community of players. As a gift, Niantic usually releases a featured Pokemon for the event. Last month the featured Pokemon was Slakoth. In July, that Pokemon will be Mudkip. A nice water-type to take your mind off the summer heat.

Niantic also released a little Mudkip-centric trailer for the upcoming Community Day. Not to rag on Pokemon Go, but it'd be great if one day the game could look like this trailer.

The Mudkip Community Day will take place globally on July 21 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Along with the extra Mudkips, there could be a chance to catch a Shiny Mudkip on that day as well. Lure Modules will also last three hours during the event, and if you can evolve Marhstopm during the event, or up to an hour after, then you will get a special Swampert with a special move. Oh, and there will be a 3x Catch Stardust bonus for the duration of the event as well.

Community Days are local events, but there are several resources to discover a Community Day event near you. Just make sure that it's an official group to avoid any potentially dangerous situation.
