There's new trailer out there for Pokemon Sun and Moon, detailing some interesting new features and a distinct difference between the games. First up, the interesting news is that Pokemon Sun and Moon are actually set 12 hours apart! Pokemon Sun is set to your local 3DS clock, while Pokemon Moon is set to 12 hours after the current time on your system. In addition, certain events and Totem Pokemon boss fights in the game will play out differently in each version. If you're a night-owl who wants to capture daytime Pokemon, Moon is your game.
There's also the new Pokemon, like the Normal-type Type: Null. Yes, that's its name, and it was apparently constructed (like Mewtwo) to incorporate the strengths of various wild Pokemon. Then there's the adorable little Dragon-type Jangmo-o and the Alolan version of Raticate, who comes across chubbier than its original counterpart. Yeah, Alolan Raticate lives the good life.
"Because urban areas are their main habitat, their diet is higher in calories than ordinary Raticate. As a result, they have become hefty," reads the synopsis of the Raticate. "Alolan Raticate prefers to eat only fresh fruits and high-class ingredients. There are rumors that a certain top-notch restaurant takes advantage of Alolan Raticate's taste buds by bringing it along when choosing ingredients to buy, and having it taste test new dishes."
The trailer details another faction in the game: the Aether Foundation. The Foundation uses its considerable resources to care for wounded Pokemon on its artificial island. The President of the Foundation is Lusamine, followed by her second-in-command Faba and fashionable assistant Wicke. The Aether Foundation is the opposite of the Team Skull faction that seeks to capture Pokemon and sell them to the highest bidder. Team Skull is lead by Guzma and the trailer shows off one of his enforcers, Gladion.
There's a treasure hunt afoot in the region as well! With the Zygrade Cube, players can search the Alola Region for Zygarde Cells and Cores. With enough cells and cores, players are on the path to finding Zygarde in the game.
Pokemon Snap fans will like the all-new Poke Finder feature, which lets players snap pictures of Pokemon they find in the game. All pictures can be taken at certain spots in the game, via the Rotom Dex. Take more and better pictures and you'll unlock the new features, like the ability to zoom.
Last up is the Ultra Beasts, mysterious creatures that exist in the Alola Region. The Aether Foundation is researching the beasts, all of which have been given code-names. The first up is UB-01, a jellyfish-like Ultra Beast sporting a glassy body and an ever-changing shape. The synopsis of the Beast notes that "for some reason, its movements resemble those of a young girl". Weird.
Pokemon Sun and Moon are coming to 3DS on November 18, 2016.
