Pokemon Sword and Shield: How to Catch Galarian Slowpoke

There’s a brand new Galar form Pokemon in town. Here’s how to catch Galarian Slowpoke.

Thanks to a recent Nintendo Direct, we know that Galarian Slowpoke has been added to Pokemon Sword and Shield. You’ll need to head to a specific place to get it, once the update has hit. Here’s how to catch Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

How to Get Galarian Slowpoke

To get the Galarian Slowpoke make your way to Wedgehurst station. If you've downloaded the new update you’ll spot either Clara or Avery, depending on which version of the game you have. You’ll also notice a Galarian Slowpoke that has wandered in from the Isle of Armor. You’ll then get the chance to catch it, which should be pretty easy.

Evolving Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro

You can evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro. Unfortunately, you'll need to wait until Isle of Armor is released as there will be an evolution item here which will trigger the change.

When is Galarian Slowpoke Released?

Galarian Slowpoke will release as part of a new update. It launched on January 9, 2020. It's available now!

Evolving it Into Galarian Slowking

If instead you’d like to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking you’ll need to head to The Crown Tundra. There’s an item here that will trigger the evolution, we’ll update when we have more info when the expansion is released.

That’s how to get Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Sword and Shield. For more on the game be sure to check out our Pokemon Sword and Shield Type Chart. Elsewhere there’s also our look at getting all of the Evolution Stones available.
