PUBG is Getting an Event Mode, Starting With 8-Person Teams

PUBG wants to remind you the most effective predators hunt in packs.

PUBG's been belting out improvements and updates at a steady pace since Fortnite Battle Royale began nipping at its heels. Its latest addition, "Event Mode," lets you have specific Battle Royale experiences you won't find in vanilla matches (and some of which are only accessible for a limited time).

The first Event Mode, which should be available very soon, lets you play with up to eight players in a team with a doubled rifle drop rate. PUBG Corp admits it's not a very exciting debut for its new mode, but it says the system is new and needs to be tested. Steel yourself, though, because "the future of the Event Mode holds exciting things!"

Parachuting to your probably-inevitable death is an event by itself.

For now, Event Mode only supports third-person perspective and is active on the Erangel map. You can access Events through PUBG's main menu.

PUBG is working hard to surpass its rival, Fortnite. You should work hard too and read our PUBG guide for tips, hints, and strategies. If playing on the go is more your style because you're just that much of a busy beaver, our PUBG mobile guide will help you play your best game on a small screen.
