Red Dead Online's Battle Royale Mode Updated for Better Matchmaking

Players can expect to see fuller lobbies when matchmaking in Gun Rush.

Rockstar Games has announced updates for its Gun Rush battle royale mode, particularly in regards to matchmaking. The new update will make it so that players get matched together in fuller lobbies for a better experience.

Gun Rush is Red Dead Online's take on the battle royale genre. The mode support ups to 32 players who must scavenge for weapons and ammunition, all while the play area gradually shrinks the longer the match goes on. Gun Rush supports both a free-for-all and team mode.

If you've played a battle royale game, you'll know that the best way to enjoy a match is with a full lobby. Whether that's 100 players or 32, the more enemies in a match increases the challenge and excitement of a battle royale game. Rockstar announced that it identified a few matchmaking issues that have been addressed which should hopefully lead to generating fuller Gun Rush lobbies with more players. These new updates are short-term improvements which will hopefully lead to more permanent solutions.

As a show of thanks for players who continue to support Red Dead Online, Rockstar is gifting players who log in this weekend 5 Gold Bars as a bonus. Players can log in anytime between today and Sunday January 27 to qualify for the bonus. The Gold Bars will be delivered to your accounts by Tuesday January 29.
