Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Footage 'Leaked' but Some Aren't Convinced It's Real

Still no word on whether the cowboys are coming to PC.

Off-screen footage of what looks like a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC build leaked on YouTube recently, but there are doubts as to whether it's the genuine thing.

Footage of what is claimed to be leaked video of the Red Dead Redemption 2 quickly came and went online, but this being the internet reuploaded versions of the same video remain. However, as PC Gamer breaks down, there are reasons to suspect the validity of the footage.

For starters, the video only shows the menu which the site notes is the easiest thing to fake. The graphics menu seems fine and well with options for brightness, resolution, refresh rate, FXAA, and VSync. But there don't appear to be post-processing graphical options like anti-aliasing or ambient occlusion. Features that were listed in a similar place on the GTA 5 PC version.

Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 as it's only available on PS4 and Xbox One. Considering the huge success of GTA 5 and GTA Online on PC it's kind of hard to believe Rockstar wouldn't try and replicate that success with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online.
