Remember Clear Nintendo Cases? They're Back, in Switch Form

Get yourself a custom Nintendo Switch clear case, but it's DIY FYI.

Remember when Nintendo used to release clear case variants of their various Game Boy models? Well prepare to relive those glory days with these DIY clear cases that are now available online for the Nintendo Switch.

Now, while these aren't official Nintendo products, they do look pretty darn snazzy but you'll have to put in some work. To equip these cases, you'll have to unscrew the original Nintendo Switch cases and transfer the internal components into the new clear case. But just look at how nice it is! Is it worth the hassle? Maybe not, but that's up to you.

Clear Nintendo Switch Case

The Aliexpress store also offers three other variants: a white case with the Japanese SNES button configuration, a gold case (similar to the Legend of Zelda gold cartridges), and a white/mint green one that reminds me of the color scheme for a toothbrush.

The market for alternative Nintendo Switch accessories is pretty steady. A couple months ago we covered a custom NES-style Nintendo Switch, although the custom design costs almost as much as a Nintendo Switch.

So if you're interested in modding up your Nintendo Switch, just know that there are plenty of options.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. See our terms & conditions.
