Remnant From The Ashes Tips and Controls

Remnant From The Ashes Tips and Controls

If you’re playing Remnant From The Ashes, you’ll need these essential tips.

Remnant From The Ashes blends elements of loot shooters, souls-likes, and post-apocalyptic RPGs like Fallout. You’ll explore a ravaged Earth, taking on dungeons and the hulking bosses that guard them. It’s not an easy experience by any stretch, and the opening hours can be pretty tough, especially if you go it alone. To help you make it through the first few dungeons alive, we’ve put together this Remnant From The Ashes Tips Guide. We’ll outline the controls, and offer some essential tips and tricks for playing the game.

Remnant From The Ashes Tips

Remnant From The Ashes can be a difficult game to get the hang of. It’s quite a hybrid in terms of game design, but definitely has more in common with a Souls game than you might think. The opening section is pretty unforgiving, but if you keep the following tips in mind while playing you should have a much better chance of surviving. Here are our tips for Remnant From The Ashes.

  • Save your bullets - weaker enemies should be taken out with melee whenever possible. You’ll need to save bullets for bosses so make sure you’re smart about conserving ammo.
  • Saving at a checkpoint will respawn enemies - anyone familiar with Dark Souls will be fine fine here, but be aware before resting.
  • Upgrade often - you’ll need to constantly be upgrading in order to match up to enemies in Remnant From The Ashes. Head back to Ward 13 whenever you can.
  • Use your Mods - There’s no use in saving up your mods just in case you need them. Pop them as often as you can, you’d be surprised by how fast they fill back up.
  • Explore! - the environments in Remnant From The Ashes aren’t all that big, so make sure you’re exploring them for secret loot, scrap and iron.
  • Buddy up - Remnant From The Ashes is significantly easier when in a team.
  • Take your time with bosses - it’s often worth your while to take your time with boss fights. Thin out enemies, and watch for easy opening for attack.
  • Mods - after beating main bosses, head back to McCabe to buy powerful weapon mods.
  • Slide - you can slide by pressing B/circle while sprinting.
  • Use cover - remember that Remnant From The Ashes is a shooter, press B/circle to hide behind cover.
  • Weak spots - most enemies have a weak point. It’s usually the head.
