Report: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Pre-Orders Will Unlock Frank Woods As a Warzone Operator

And there's evidence of a closed beta for the game.

The reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is mere days away at this point, after first being unveiled last week. Over the weekend, a report containing datamined information claimed that pre-orders for the upcoming game could unlock Black Ops character Frank Woods for use in Call of Duty: Warzone.

This report comes from The report claims to have found evidence that Black Ops character Frank Woods will be available for use in both Warzone and Modern Warfare's multiplayer component, should players pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Frank Woods in the original Black Ops. | Activision

For the uninitiated, Frank Woods was a character from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops games by Treyarch. He was a supporting character in the original game, as well as in the futuristic, 2025-set missions in Black Ops 2. There's plenty of speculation that Black Ops Cold War is a reboot of the entire Black Ops series and if so, it's entirely possible that Woods could be returning.

Additionally, the report has found evidence of an upcoming closed beta for Black Ops Cold War. Right now, there's only evidence of a closed beta taking place on the PC version of Black Ops Cold War, but it's said that those who access the closed beta will receive a bunch of exclusive items in the final game, including weapons, skins, and more.

After playing a prolonged waiting game, Activision finally unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with the trailer above last week. The full reveal of the game will be taking place later this week on Wednesday, August 26.
