A Best Buy update suggests the JRPG has been delayed once more.

News by Matt Kim, .

Update: Today, Bandai Namco has confirmed that Ni No Kuni 2 has been delayed to March 23. The March 9 date in the delay notification was a placeholder date for this latest delay.

If you're a fan of whimsical Japanese animation and also RPGs then you're probably excited for Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom. The game was already delayed from its original November release date to January 19, 2018, but Ni no Kuni 2 might have just been delayed...again.

Twitter user @LikChan just posted a screencap of an email from Best Buy with an update on their order for Ni no Kuni 2. The email says that release date for the item has been updated to March 9, 2018. The item in question being an order for Ni no Kuni 2.

We've reached out to Bandai Namco who is publishing the game outside of Japan. Representatives say they are looking into the matter and we will keep you updated with any developments.

I for one don’t mind. Plenty of games to play. Another impulse buy which sits on a shelf for months avoided.

Better to delay it nearly 2 months to make it better than release it early, so if this is true, that's fine. Even though I really want this game, I'm okay with waiting for a better product, and a slower January since so much is already happening there.

I frankly haven't seen enough to really expect it to be released in two months so a delay to add polish is welcome within reason. March isn't as bad as nebulous season release date.

Man Ni No Kuni really can't take a break. Happy for a delay game that's good than a rush product but it is sad seeing this get delayed a bunch. Personally wasn't much of a fan of the first game (active movement with ATB combat just never really felt right) and haven't really seen much in combat but I hope they improved the system.
