Resident Evil 2 is out tomorrow, and to celebrate Capcom has released a new live-action trailer for the upcoming remake. The trailer itself is an homage to the original live-action Resident Evil 2 trailer from 1998 that was directed by none other than George Romero.
If you're not a fan of the more action-focused Resident Evil movies by director Paul W.S. Anderson, then you'll be happy to know that the new Resident Evil 2 live-action trailer is more Dawn of the Dead than Resident Evil: Apocalypse. While short, the trailer has all the elements of Resident Evil 2. Namely that's zombies, tight corridors, and Leon Kennedy's coif.
Back in 1998 Capcom commissioned the father of zombie horror George Romero to direct a live-action spot for Resident Evil 2. The trailer only aired in Japan, but it's available for viewing thanks to the internet. You can see that the two trailers share a similar tone and atmosphere.
