Resident Evil 7 'Not a Hero' Chris Redfield DLC Trailer has a Decidedly More Action-packed Look

It honestly looks like a military shooter than survival horror game.

Chris Redfield is back in action for Resident Evil 7's upcoming DLC, Not a Hero. While the DLC was delayed for a couple months, players will probably want to check out the free story content when it comes out in December.

The Not a Hero DLC follows series mainstay Chris Redfield who briefly appeared in the final act of the main campaign in Resident Evil 7. Returning with a slightly redesigned look (I hardly recognize him), Chris must navigate the underground mines beneath the Baker Family compound and rescue his kidnapped teammates while fighting off against the game's gooey BOWs. It's unknown if characters from the main RE7 campaign will make an appearance in the DLC.

The trailer is mostly gameplay with a peek at the more military HUD that Redfield has as opposed to RE7 hero Ethan Winters. Whereas Winters didn't have a lot of icons on the screen, Chris has a visibly more modern HUD with indicators for air quality, ammo, and health. It honestly looks like an HUD for a modern action game than a survival horror title, but maybe that's the tone the DLC is gunning for.

Not a Hero will come out on December 12 after originally being announced for earlier this spring. Another story DLC called of End of Zoe will also come out as part of th game's season pass. Presumably that DLC will wrap up the storyline for Zoe Baker whose ultimate fate was left unknown in the main story campaign. A Gold Edition including all the DLC is also planned to come out the same day.
