Resident Evil 7's CGI Prequel Film Brings Back Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy

Resident Evil: Vendetta bridges the gap this Summer.

Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment have released a new trailer for Resident Evil: Vendetta. The CGI film is set in the game universe and follows the releases of Resident Evil: Degeneration and Resident Evil: Damnation. The Japanese release was already scheduled for May 27, 2017, but we finally have a release window for the North American version: this summer.

Vendetta is intended to bridge the gap between the Resident Evil 6 and the event portrayed in Resident Evil 7. Resident Evil mainstays Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield star in the film, alongside Resident Evil Zero's Rebecca Chambers. Vendetta is produced by Marza Animation Planet and executive produced by Ju-On/The Grudge creator Takashi Shimizu.

Resident Evil 7 has already had its first downloadable content release with Banned Footage Vol 1, which will be followed soon by Banned Footage Vol 2, and the free Not A Hero DLC, which fills in the backstory of a character from the end of the game.

Third-person action-adventure games are his personal poison: Uncharted, Infamous, and Assassin's Creed just to name a few. If you see him around a convention, he's not hard to spot: Black guy, glasses, and a tie.
