Return of the Obra Dinn Is Coming to Switch This Fall [Update]

Return of the Obra Dinn is coming to Switch, Xbox One, and PS4, finally.

Update: Lucas Pope himself has confirmed that Return of the Obra Dinn is actually coming to all three major consoles this fall. The lack of firm release date in the Nintendo announcement is down to Pope not knowing the specific release timing yet.

Return of the Obra Dinn finally leaves PC, as it was just announced that it'll be coming to Nintendo Switch this fall in today's Nintendo Direct. Return of the Obra Dinn is the follow-up from developer Lucas Pope, the creator of Papers, Please. Return of the Obra Dinn situates players on a ghost ship, where it's up to them to infer what exactly happened through their own detective skills.

Return of the Obra Dinn topped my personal list of the best games of 2018, and it landed at number 14 of USgamer's own top 20. This marks the first console release for Return of the Obra Dinn, and thankfully too, because I was its chief cheerleader over on Team USG last year. Maybe I can talk it into our game of the year list again this year.

Return of the Obra Dinn will hit Nintendo Switch on fall 2019. No additional console platforms have been announced so far.
