Ring Fit Adventure Spirits Arrive in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate This Week

A very shredded challenger approaches.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate adds in new Spirits to obtain in the Spirits Board mode, seemingly at random on the whims of the development team. The latest batch of characters to join the game through the Spirits mode are from Ring Fit Adventure.

You can see the announcement of Ring Fit characters joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Spirits just below. The characters will launch in the game on Friday, March 13, and will be sticking around to be claimed until Wednesday, March 18.

There will be just three new Spirits added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the theme of Ring Fit Adventure. As per the announcement above, the three newcomers should be both the male and female versions of the Ring Fit Trainer, and then finally the villainous Dragaux, who acts as the antagonist throughout the story mode of Ring Fit Adventure.

Recently, Ring Fit Adventure stocks have been hit particularly hard by the spread of the coronavirus throughout mainland Asia. Nintendo announced that stock of the Nintendo Switch would face shortages in Japan and China earlier this year, and also highlighted that Ring Fit Adventure in particular, one of the hardware units that is produced in Nintendo's China-based manufacturing plant, would also face shortages.

Currently, there's no further news and about any additional upcoming Spirits being added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but you can safely imagine Masahiro Sakurai and co. are hard at work selecting new Spirits. They're also probably hard at work on the six new DLC fighters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, all of which have already been chosen by Nintendo.
