Risk of Rain 2 Is Out on Consoles Today

Available on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Surprise! Risk of Rain 2 is available on consoles right now. The loot shooter is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, after originally launching on PC earlier this year.

Risk of Rain 2 for the Nintendo Switch was actually revealed earlier in August as part of the 'Nintendo Indies' Direct, but the news of the console launch is a nice addition. The game is available on all platforms for $29.99.

If you're unfamiliar with the sequel, up to four players drop on a mysterious planet, fighting through hordes of monsters to try and make it to safety. Every run in Risk of Rain 2 is randomized, so you're constantly going up against new enemies, bosses, and uncovering new loot items with each successive run.

The console version of Risk of Rain 2 includes the Scorched Acres update, which launched earlier this Summer. The update includes a new playable survivor, a new boss, stage, items, equipment, and more. Hopoo Games has said there are future planned updates for Risk of Rain 2 to introduce even more characters, stages, and enemies, all of which will launch for free.
