The metronomic roguelike Cadence of Hyrule was a surprise announcement in Nintendo's spring Nindies Showcase, so it seems fitting that it seems like it will also be a surprise release on the eShop sometime this week. According to reports and data uncovered online, we could be hopping along to Hyrulian beats on May 30, just two days from now.
Found by a Twitter user (via Nintendolife), the eShop release date tag was updated to be May 30 in a recent change. While we've known since its reveal that Cadence of Hyrule would be a spring 2019 game (and they were running out of spring for it), this is still a neat surprise to get right as all the big game news surrounding E3 starts to flood out.
This date change also validates another hint dropped by the Nintendo Europe newsletter, listing Cadence of Hyrule among several games coming out this spring, including Assassin's Creed III and the Resident Evil re-releases. Together, all signs point to Thursday. We've reached out to both developer Brace Yourself Games and Nintendo for confirmation, but have yet to hear back.
If you're looking forward to even more surprises from Nintendo, I've got good news. There's a Direct planned for next week featuring the new Pokemon games, and that's not including their planned E3 Direct. The next couple weeks are looking pretty stacked with news and announcements for Switch owners. Be sure to keep up with all things E3 2019 in our guide.
