The gameplay reveal for Doom Eternal is set to take place this Friday, on August 10. So too, if a new rumor from Reddit is to be believed, is the announcement that 2016's Doom will be coming to Xbox Game Pass that same day.
The rumor of the Doom Game Pass announcement for Friday started off on Reddit yesterday, on August 8. The Doom for Game Pass announcement appears to have been leaked through an Xbox promotional email from Microsoft.
Honestly, this wouldn't be a complete surprise from Bethesda on Friday at QuakeCon 2018, which kicks off tomorrow on August 10. There have been countless times in recent memory where you could purchase 2016's Doom for right around $10 on either PS4 or Xbox One, and it makes sense to get as many people as possible playing Doom, before Doom Eternal launches next year. Bethesda is already supporting Game Pass, with The Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 4, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Fallout 3 currently part of the service's games lineup.
As for Doom Eternal, we don't have too many details on the sequel from id Software right now, aside from the fact that it will be set on Earth, where Hell has invaded the planet. Head over to our Doom Eternal guide for everything else we know about Bethesda's upcoming sequel.
