Square Enix has released SaGa: Scarlet Grace for PlayStation Vita in Japan already, with the game getting a solid 32/40 from Famitsu. Two questions remain: Will there be more SaGa and will we see Scarlet Grace in the United States? In an interview with Famitsu (translated via Siliconera), SaGa series creator Akitoshi Kawazu said that the series would continue, as long as the fans are there.
"I believe that if the fans would like to see it continue, then I think it'll continue. I believe that the SaGa series can continue in a sense of 'RPGs from now on can also be expressed this way.' From this point on, we plan on continuing to go with this direction with seriousness, to keep making games that are sharp, difficult, and painful," said Kawazu.
He also explained that the initial point of SaGa: Scarlet Grace's development was to define what the series really is.
"I had the personal objective of defining "what is SaGa?" I believe that this time around with this title, we were able to start out saying that what we have here is that SaGa," he said.
Unfortunately, there's still no potential release date for SaGa: Scarlet Grace in North America or Europe.
