It looks like the fourth installment in the Saints Row franchise is getting a spot on the Nintendo Switch. An Amazon listing this morning let slip that Saints Row 4 is coming to the Nintendo Switch on March 27, 2020.
The Switch version will be the "Re-Elected" version and come with 25 packs of DLC previously released for other versions of the game, including the two story expansions Enter the Dominatrix and How the Saints Save Christmas, as well as the infamous Dubstep Gun. It will also include "seamless" drop-in, drop-out co-op, so two players can take on the enemies of humanity together.
Saints Row 4's Switch debut was reported to be one of several games rated for the Nintendo Switch last month, alongside Metro Redux and the BioShock: The Collection; the former has already been announced.
Despite starting life as a competitor to Grand Theft Auto, the Saints Row series quickly developed its own identity as the more cartoonish and extreme open-world game, which actually worked out pretty well for Saints Row. The fourth game in the series has the main character take up the mantle as the leader of the Saints once again, who has now become President of the United States and must use their superpowers to fight aliens and save the world through space and time. It's pretty awesome.
Saints Row: The Third had a rocky launch when it came to the Nintendo Switch last May, though patches in the time since have attempted to fix up the game. It's also probably the closest thing you can get to a portable Grand Theft Auto right now, unless you own a Nintendo DS and want to check out the criminally underrated Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.
