Rumored Saints Row: The Third Remaster Lands Next Month and It’s Surprisingly Gorgeous

Shine a new light on Steelport.

The Third Street Saints are returning to Steelport once again. Deep Silver announced today that Saints Row: The Third will be getting a remaster, launching for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on May 22, 2020.

The open-world classic is getting a new revision from Sperasoft, which has done some significant work in bringing Steelport into the current generation. Weapons have been remodeled, cars redesigned, environments retextured, and even a new lighting engine.

Despite the update, Steelport will still have everything a returning Saints Row fan would expect, including the wild outfits, destructive weapons, and assortment of vehicles to roll out of the garage. All three expansion packs are going to be included in Saints Row: The Third Remastered, as well as more than 30 pieces of DLC according to a press release, and everything has received the same remastered treatment. The remaster will also have co-op play, albeit just online.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered had been teased a few times via rating boards leaks, but now that there's actual confirmation of what the remaster entails, it's fairly interesting. The only Saints Row: The Third action we've had recently was the Nintendo Switch port, a technically lackluster version of the original game.

Even though the Switch version got patched over time, Saints Row: The Third is still a memorable part of the last generation. Now, we get a chance to remember it before hopping into a new console generation, taking on the Syndicate and dropping out of the sky to the tune of Kanye West's "Power" all over again. Hopefully it's stood the test of time.
