Sea of Thieves PvP Mode "The Arena" Announced

Ahoy mateys, challenge me to a duel.

At today's Xbox X018 event in Mexico City, Mexico Microsoft made several new announcements including a new PvP mode for Sea of Thieves called "The Arena."

Sea of Thieves is an online pirate adventure game from Rare that lets players roam the high seas, command ships, and hunt for buried treasure. The most recent expansion, Forsaken Shores, introduced a new volcanic region called the Devil's Roar which is supposed to be Sea of Thieves' hardest map yet.

We spoke with Rare at E3 to talk about some of the challenges of running a live-service game, and how services like Microsoft's streaming service Mixer helped spread the word around and got players interested in Sea of Thieves.
