Sega Genesis Mini Announced at Sega FES 2018, See it Here

Sega does what... you know the rest.

Sega announced the existence of a Sega Genesis mini today at Sega Fes. The tiny console was shown off during the press conference, but not a lot of details were shared.

The Sega Genesis mini is styled after the Nintendo NES Classic and SNES Classic and looks to be a miniaturized version of Sega's classic console but presumably pre-loaded with classic Sega games. You can see an image of the console below.

The Sega Genesis, or Mega Drive in Japan and Europe, first released in 1989 brought with it famous games like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Mortal Kombat, and Castlevania. Sega did not announce what games will be included in the Genesis mini, nor release date and price.

Sega's other announcements from the event includes the news that Shenmue 1 and 2 will be re-released in HD for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and that a new mainline Sakura Wars game is in development.

This is a developing story and we will have more information as it becomes available to us.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. See our terms & conditions.
