It's been a busy month for Overwatch. The Overwatch League kicked off just last week with its inaugural first stage of its debut season. Blizzard World got a release date of January 23. Yesterday, we learned that the map won't be coming alone to Overwatch—new sprays were on the way too, and possibly more.
This morning, we learned that the "possibly more" was a skin, with more teases for the big cosmetics update joining the new map in five days. The skin revealed today was a legendary skin for the offense hero Pharah, called Asp Pharah. The skin leans heavily on her Egyptian heritage, as you can see in the short teaser video in the embedded tweet below.
Only 5 more days until our cosmetics update arrives in Overwatch! Join us as we count down to their release with new item reveals every day. Today's reveal: ASP PHARAH (Legendary Skin) pic.twitter.com/hDROJPh8WZ— Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) January 18, 2018
Overwatch hasn't gotten a huge cosmetic update since the game launched a year and a half ago, aside from its limited time event skins. While a few skins and sprays have been added to the regular loot box rotation over time, like Reinhardt's Greifhardt and Balderich that joined the game for the launch of the Eichenwalde map, a mass update like Blizzard's been teasing this week has yet to hit the game. Over the next few days, Blizzard has noted there will be more peeks at what items are coming to the multiplayer shooter.
