It's February, so the unspoken social contract between all humans dictates you should probably have taken down the reindeer and tinsel by now. But BioWare's Anthem isn't ready to let the festivities go just yet.
GamesRadar's Sam Loveridge tweeted out a pic of Anthem's hub area today. It is, surprisingly, still decked out in festive lights.
Decided to have a dip back into Anthem. The fact that all the Christmas decs are still up made it feel even sadder pic.twitter.com/HQlN668H2e- Sam Loveridge (@apacherose3) February 7, 2020
It would be easy, almost too easy, to make a joke about Anthem's lack of updates. The living game from the studio behind Mass Effect transitioned to seasonal updates last September, as its reportedly in the middle of a Realm Reborn-style reboot.
So, if a massive revision is in the works, I think leaving the decorations up longer than society would normally deem acceptable isn't the worst offense. I still have some lights hanging at my place, but that's mostly just because I like the way they look. Let them spend time on whatever they're working on to right the ship, and let the festive cheer stay up year-round if they want.
As the Anthem team builds up to whatever might be in store-hopefully something interesting, as we're nearing the one-year mark-other parts of BioWare are working away at the next Dragon Age. Don't expect that for quite a while, though.
