I Can't Wait to See How Ugly Live-Action Sonic Is
Here's the first poster for the Sonic live-action movie.
The first teaser poster for the live-action Sonic film was released this morning and oh my god even though it doesn't show how Sonic will look in the film, there's enough of a silhouette to get the basic details of Sonic's live-action design. And it's horrifying.

Revealed exclusively on IGN, the motion poster features but a shadowy outline of Sonic's live-action form, but even just the shadow emits a horrifying aura. Look at Sonic's hands which are much smaller and more menacing than his usual gloved digits. Can you imagine those slender fingers wrapped around your neck?
Sonic is now a big beefy boy from his strangely defined thighs to his muscular forearms. Perhaps the worst detail is the outline of his left eye which is small and defined and it's going to look super weird once it's unveiled in-full.
In fact, executive producer Tim Miller told IGN that the studio struggled with Sonic's eyes for the film. "I don't think SEGA was entirely happy with the eye decision, but these sorts of things you go, 'It's going to look weird if we don't do this.' But everything is a discussion, and that's kind of the goal, which is to only change what's necessary and stay true to the rest of it," said Miller.
check out his profile and you'll see his weird bulging wet eye. it's literally making me gag. its so disgusting.

The Sonic live-action reveal is reminiscent of the recent trailer for Detective Pikachu movie which also had a jarring first-look thanks to the strangely realistic looking Pokemon. But the live-action Pokemon design became less threatening over time and maybe even cute. Live-action Sonic so far looks so much more menacing and he only gets weirder the more you look at him.
The new Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of the speedy blue hedgehog working with a real-human cop played by James Marsden (Westworld). Together they work to fight Dr. Robotnik played by Jim Carrey. The film is slated to come out November 8, 2019.
