Soul Calibur 6 Adds Talim and Soul Chronicle Story Mode

The tonfa-wielding priestess adds her soul to this tale of history.

Bandai Namco has revealed the next character coming to Soulcalibur VI. Talim, the tonfa-wielding Last Priestess of the Winds, is joining the roster. Talim debuted in Soulcalibur II, but also appeared in Soulcalibur III, Soulcalibur IV, and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Bandai Namco also has a character synopsis to go along with the trailer:

Hailing from the Village of the Wind Diety, a remote island tribe in South-East Asia, Talim was raised as The Last Priestess of the Winds, being the only daughter of the village shaman.

Through this role, Talim learnt the ways of the ceremonial Wind Dance and grew up with the two ancestral elbow blades, Syi Sarika and Loka Luha, used for this sword display. Though trained with the blades as part of the island’s ancient ceremonies, Talim’s vast mastery of these weapons and control of the very wind itself, provided her with a fighting ability vastly beyond her young years.

Talim joins a roster that already includes Mitsurugi, Ivy, Kilik, Groh, Sophita, Nightmare, Siegfried, Taki, Yoshimitsu, Xianghua, Maxi, Zasalamel, and The Witcher's Geralt.

Bandai Namco has also released the first bit of news on Soulcalibur VI's story mode, entitled Soul Chronicle. According to a translation by Siliconera, Soul Chronicle will detail the major story beats of the Soulcalibur timeline. The mode will stretch from 1583 to 1590, separated in various episodes. The Soul Chronicle will tell its story through a combination of playable sections, 2D art, character conversations, and more.

Soulcalibur VI is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 19, 2018.
