Soul Calibur 6 Introduces The Witcher's Geralt as the Latest Guest Character in the Series

Geralt of Rivia cuts into battle.

Just as the official Witcher Twitter account teased yesterday, Geralt is indeed Soul Calibur 6's guest character. The Witcher will be facing off against characters like Mitsurugi and Nightmare when Soul Calibur 6 comes out on PS4 and Xbox One sometime this year.

The Witcher and Bandai Namco released a new trailer announcing Geralt, showing off some of his moves and abilities when he joins the Soul Calibur 6 roster. His moveset seems to include his swords, obviously, but also the use of Sign Arts like Igni. In fact, Sign Arts appear to be a major component of Geralt's playstyle according to the trailer below.

Soul Calibur 6 was announced late last year at the Game Awards and will return the series back to its roots. Quite literally I might add as the game will take place sometime during the events of the first Soul Calibur game. That's why returning characters like Nightmare, Sophitia, and Ivy all look closer to their original Soul Calibur appearances.

The Soul Calibur games have a long tradition of including guest fighters into its games, including characters like Yoda, Darth Vader, Link, and Ezio Auditore. Geralt's appearance was rumored for months, but today's confirmation means that Soul Calibur adds yet another great game character into its ranks.

The full roster for Soul Calibur 6 still hasn't been announced, but so far Bandai Namco has been announcing a string of returning characters, with only two new fighters announced so far, Geralt being one of them.
