Soul Calibur 6 Shows Off a Buff Yoshimitsu in New Trailer

The demon swordsman is back and he's swol.

Soul Calibur 6 pulled the curtains back on another character joining its growing roster. This time it's the demon swordsman Yoshimitsu who has a pretty buff new body for his Soul Calibur 6 debut.

Like previous character reveals, Bandai Namco released a new trailer showing off Yoshimitsu's new design and moveset. Like his previous appearances, Yoshimitsu still has some strange movements and sword attacks, and also some of his weird aerial acrobatics.

What's new is his finishing move where he steals his opponent's soul through a weird portal. Once he claims it, he proceeds to cut it in half. I don't think I ever remember Yoshimitsu as a soul stealing demon, but then again it's hard to keep up with the Soul Calibur lore.

Similarly, it's weird to see him ditch his puppet-y wooden body for this more muscular, android-looking variant. But Soul Calibur VI is a soft reboot of the first game, so maybe this is just his original body before he has to switch to a shoddy wooden one.

Soul Calibur 6 already announced some fan favorite characters like Ivy and Nightmare, along with a scant few new characters including a guest appearance by The Witcher's Geralt.

Soul Calibur 6 is currently slated for a 2018 release. For more, check out our everything we know about Soul Calibur 6 guide.
