Soulcalibur 6 Trailer Brings Back Nightmare, Xianghua, and Kilik, but With a Twist

There's also a new character.

Bandai Namco of Europe released a new SoulCalibur 6 trailer today which introduces a new character to the series. But more importantly, also reveals the return of several fan favorites including Kilik, Nightmare, and Xianghua.

The new SoulCalibur 6 trailer features a brand new character named Groh, "The Agent in Black." He appears to be some kind of spy or professional mercenary of sorts based on the way he speaks and he wields a dual sided sword (kind of like Darth Maul's lightsaber configuration, but as a sword). He's alright I guess.

The real treasure in this trailer is seeing returning cast members Nightmare, Xianghua, and Kilik. Each of them wearing an updated variation of their earlier costumes as fitting with the timeline.

All three characters come with some new moves like Nightmare who can now summon a demonic ghost horse as part of his special. Kilik for his part also seems to have gained some kind of Souledge corrupted powers as well where he transforms into a demonic version of himself. His Bo staff also transforms into a terrifying spear.

Soulcalibur 6 isn't necessarily a prequel or remake. Rather it recontextualizes the events of the first Soulcalibur game. The long-awaited fighting game is due sometime this year in 2018. We will no doubt find out how many characters will be joining the full roster as the year continues.
