Spider-Man PS4 Gets a Surprise Sam Raimi Movie Suit

Party like it's 2002!

For a fair while now, fans of Spider-Man on PS4 have been clamouring for an in-game suit based around the 2002 Spider-Man movie, directed by Sam Raimi. Today, those prayers have been answered.

In the early hours of December 20, the official PlayStation Twitter account surprisingly revealed the new Spider-Man suit. “A certain suit is available right now in #SpiderManPS4,” read the tweet. “Yes, *that* suit.”

The new suit based around the 2002 movie is available to all Spider-Man players on PS4, right now. God, this new suit takes me back to my childhood days, with Tobey Maguire zipping around New York City.

This stealth release of sorts comes just the day before a new DLC pack releases for Spider-Man. ‘Silver Lining’ releases for season pass holders tomorrow on December 21, and sees Silver Sable returning to New York City.

For everything else about the upcoming DLC pack for Spider-Man, including a complete list of all the other news suits arriving with the expansion, head over to our Spider-Man PS4 Silver Lining guide.

He's written for The Guardian, Paste Magazine, and Kotaku, and he likes waking up when the sun rises and roaming the nearby woods with the bears and the wolves.
