Spider-Man PS4 Marriage Proposal Backfires, Dev Offers to Patch it Out

One fan had managed to get a marriage proposal into the game, though things did not go exactly to plan. Spiderman3qtefail.gif.

In the run-up to the release of Spider Man PS4, YouTuber Tyler Schultz asked Insomniac if it would consider putting a marriage proposal in the game for him. They agreed, but unfortunately the relationship broke down shortly after.

The proposal involved a huge sign being displayed in the game's depiction of Manhattan. It reads "Maddie, will you marry me?". Everything was planned and set in motion, though unfortunately, the relationship broke down before the launch of the game.

Schultz has posted a video explaining the circumstances surrounding the ill-fated proposal on his YouTube channel, though in short, it's pretty upsetting. Since then, Insomniac has offered to take down the in-game sign, though Schultz has opted to keep the sign in the game, just in case anyone else would like to use it for their own proposal.

Until someone jumps on the opportunity though, the Spidey marriage proposal remains the saddest Easter Egg in the game. Let's hope that someone can find a way to spin it into something good.
