Marvel's Spider-Man Returns With Miles Morales in the Lead This Holiday For PS5

Miles is leading the charge for the sequel.

Yes, there's a new Spider-Man in this town. Spider-Man: Miles Morales was revealed today at the PS5 games showcase, and it's launching Holiday 2020.

The reveal trailer at the PS5 games showcase was brief, but pretty spectacular, and you can check it out for yourself just below. There wasn't any actual gameplay shown for the sequel, but there is Miles Morales leading the charge, with Peter Parker nowhere to be seen in the trailer.

It seems as though Miles' adventure might take place a few years after Peter's escapades in 2018. Miles definitely looks somewhat older than he did in the 2018 Spider-Man, but this is all just speculation as of right now.

Although Peter doesn't look like he's returning, it looks like we're back in New York City again for the sequel. Spider-Man is always linked with NYC, so it's no surprise that we're back in the same playground for the sequel. Although, as you'll note if you've seen the debut trailer, it looks as though the sequel takes place right around Christmas time.

Note that this isn't the only game that Insomniac has on the go right now. As was also revealed during the PS5 games showcase, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is also releasing for the PlayStation 5, developed by Insomniac for the next-gen console.

At the current time, there isn't a release date for Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The only clue we have to go on is the 'Holiday 2020' slogan, which could indicate that it might be launching after the PS5. We'll have to wait and find out to be sure, however.
