Nintendo announced today at the Nintendo Direct the final release date for Splatoon 2 on Nintendo Switch. The inklings will be back to fight it out on July 21!
During the direct, Nintendo outlined a new game mode called Salmon Run. In Salmon Run, a team of four take on a PVE Horde-style mode, where they paint islands and fighting incoming waves of Chum. Taking down Chum nets you Power Eggs, and there are boss Chum like Steelhead to make waves harder. Fallen teammates can be revived by finding their lifesavers. Your objective is find Golden Eggs and take them to the collector.
Nintendo will also be releasing new Splatoon 2 series Amiibo, including Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and Inkling Squid. Tapping the amiibo to your Switch allows you to befriend the character in-game and they'll remember your outfits, weapons, gear, and other settings. It's a good way to save your gear for playing at a friend's place. Splatoon 2 is also compatible with previously-released Splatoon Amiibo.
