In a live stream, Square Enix announced that it is remastering the classic RPG, Romancing SaGa 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation Vita, and the Nintendo Switch. What's more, the game is set to launch on December 15.
Originally released in 1993, the remastered version of Romancing SaGa 2 will have updated graphics and audio, brand new character classes, a new dungeon, as well as a New game+ that will let players find missed items or save more companions.
The remaster is being developed by Akitoshi Kawazu, the director of the original game, and will launch as part of the 28th anniversary celebration for the franchise. The game followed players leading the Varennes Empire against the Seven Heroes. The unique hero system in the game let players control a variety of different protagonists all along the imperial royal lineage.
Players can also take advantage of a limited time, 20 percent discount for the game across all platforms that begins on launch day and runs through January 8.
Correction: An earlier version of this story omitted mention of a PS4 version.
