Square Enix will finally unveil its Marvel Avengers game at its E3 press conference this year. The company revealed a new teaser image and Twitter account today just for the occasion.
The untitled Avengers game was announced back in 2017, and since then there has been nary a word on the project. Two years later, and it looks like Square Enix and developer Crystal Dynamics will give players a better look into its Avengers partnership with Marvel.
With only a brief cinematic teaser to go on, the nature of the Avengers project is still a total mystery. All we know is that it will likely star the core Avengers team seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So we can probably count on Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, and Hawkeye. The Avengers game reveal comes off the heels of Avengers: Endgame, which has dominated the box office since coming out in April.
Tune into Square Enix Live E3 2019 for the worldwide reveal of Marvel’s Avengers. The event - complete with closed captions – begins June 10 at 6PM PT: https://t.co/KNimbY3Ze7 #SquareEnixE3 #Reassemble pic.twitter.com/zYibKtcPS1— Marvel's Avengers (@PlayAvengers) May 29, 2019
Although Crystal Dynamics is taking the lead on development, Eidos Montreal is also working on the game. So, two of Square Enix's biggest western development teams came together on the project, just like the Avengers in a way.
We'll hopefully get a proper title, and maybe some gameplay, when Avengers is finally revealed on June 10 at 6 p.m. PT. Square Enix is also expected to reveal more about Final Fantasy 7 Remake at its showcase as well.
