Star Wars Battlefront 2 Hero Roster Leaks with a Few Surprises

Heroes across all three trilogies will be in the new Star Wars game.

Reddit appears to have leaked a list of Star Wars Battlefront 2 heroes from the closed alpha.

According to user unispired_zebra, several references to hero characters were found in the files for the closed Star Wars alpha, including new heroes like General Grievous, Rey, and Kylo Ren.

A few characters like Captain Phasma were already confirmed as DLC, though Reddit has been quick to point out the omission of Finn, another DLC character set to release around the same time as Phasma. One theory is that Phasma’s character model already exists in the game due to her appearance in certain cutscenes.

The full list of characters found so far include:

  • Boba Fett
  • Han Solo
  • Leia
  • Luke
  • Bossk
  • Chewbacca
  • Darth Vader
  • The Emperor
  • General Grievous
  • Iden
  • Kylo Ren
  • Lando Calrissian
  • Darth Maul
  • Captain Phasma
  • Rey
  • Yoda

Additionally, uninspired_zebra managed to find weapon and ability descriptions for the heroes which you can find in a follow-up Reddit thread. The list not only includes weapon descriptions like Boba Fett’s “EE-3” blaster, but also special skills and weapons like Han Solo’s “Sharpshooter” ability or Chewbacca’s “Heavy Slam”.

EA has previously promised a schedule of DLC characters, maps, and weapons for free to help the game post-launch, which suggests that this list of characters is only the tip of the iceberg.

Unfortunately, EA is also implementing a new loot system which offer game enhancing bonuses like weapon damage and health which can be purchased for real-world currencies. This move stoked fears that Star Wars Battlefront 2 can become imbalanced through financial transactions.
