It seems as though Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be going free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers next month in June. An Instagram ad for Sony's Days of Play event looks to have spilled the beans a bit early.
You can see the very brief advert captured in the YouTube video just below. It shows Call of Duty: WW2 as one game going free with PS Plus in June, which has already been confirmed, before a brief snippet showing Battlefront 2 as a second game going free for PS Plus for the upcoming month.
Note that these aren't necessarily the two free PS Plus games that every subscriber gets for a month. The wording on the brief advert gives no indication that Call of Duty: WW2 and Star Wars Battlefront 2 are the free PS Plus games for the month, only that they're available for free for all PS Plus subscribers.
Earlier this week, there was a rumor doing the rounds claiming that Insomniac's Spider-Man was one of the free PS Plus games for the month of June, based on a PSN Store listing. If Battlefront 2 turns out to not be under the PS Plus games umbrella for the month, then it leaves the door open for Spider-Man to be free with the subscription service.
As of right now, all of this is unconfirmed by Sony, as well as EA. We've reached out to the former publisher for comment on the story, and will update with any subsequent comments or confirmations.
