Star Wars Battlefront II Leak Shows The War From the Empire's Point of View

Once again, a trailer goes live just a bit ahead of schedule…

It looks like the PlayStation version of a trailer for Electronic Arts and DICE's Star Wars: Battlefront II has gone online just a bit too early.

The trailer shows the epic galactic conflicts of the Star Wars universe from the side of the bad guys: The Trade Federation, The Empire, and the First Order. The trailer begins with an unnamed female soldier watching the second Death Star explode from Endor. It jumps between eras, showing the post-Return of the Jedi Empire, the First Order from the Force Awakens, and a fight on Hoth.

The heroes seem to be returning with Darth Maul facing off against Yoda in the trailer. Rey and Kylo Ren also show up briefly. The ending card also show Clone Wars-era fighters and capital ships in a space battle. Featured planets look like Endor, Hoth, Naboo, Scarif from Rogue One, and Takodana from The Force Awakens.

It also looks like we're getting a single-player campaign of some sort, with the female Empire soldier featuring in the official game art and logo at the end of the trailer.

M.H. Williams is new to the journalism game, but he's been a gamer since the NES first graced American shores. Third-person action-adventure games are his personal poison: Uncharted, Infamous, and Assassin's Creed just to name a few. If you see him around a convention, he's not hard to spot: Black guy, glasses, and a tie.
