With the announcement of Starcraft Remastered, Blizzard Entertainment said that the original Starcraft would be going free. Today is the day. The patch improves the game's compatibility with Windows 7, 8.1, and 10. Online has been improved overall and Blizzard added more modern anti-cheat features to the title's online multiplayer. There's also a new Observer mode for the game. Blizzard did offer one big note for those looking to download the game.
"When patching StarCraft, please use the 'Run as Admin' option; it is required during your first client run to migrate saves and avoid issues from Windows system admin changes," said Blizzard developer Pete Stilwell on the official forums.
Starcraft Remastered will be coming to PC later this year.
