Stardew Valley Comes Out on The Nintendo Switch This Week

The Switch version will add multiplayer to Stardew Valley.

Stardew Valley for the Nintendo Switch finally has a release date and it's October 5, which is this Thursday. The price is set for $14.99 on the eShop.

The release date and price was announced via Twitter this morning from publisher Chucklefish's CEO, Finn Brice, as well as in a blog post from developer ConcernedApe.

"I'm very happy to see Stardew come to a Nintendo console... I grew up on Nintendo, after all! This will not only be the first time Stardew Valley appears on a Nintendo platform, but also the first time Stardew will be on a portable system," writes the developer on his blog.

ConcernedApe also adds a word of thanks to this colleagues adding, "I would like to give a big shout out to Sickhead Games, who worked very hard to develop this port. They did a great job as always, and deserve all the credit! I'd also like to thank mypublisher Chucklefish for coordinating everything."

The Switch version will add multiplayer to the game before any other console, which will receive the multiplayer update sometime in 2018.

After a change in platforms from the Wii U to the Nintendo Switch the massively popular farm and social-life sim is finally coming to a Nintendo platform. Despite having already been released on nearly every current console, the multiplayer addition is a big boon for the Switch version of the game and another reason to leave your humdrum life to start fresh in Stardew Valley again.
